During the days leading up to Valentine's Day, the MSU Mankato Student Activities office and the Creative Writing Club will join hands (so to speak) on a creative project which will allow MSU students to construct cards for their loved ones free of charge.
You know that old saying: ?If only I had a way to write down how I was feeling?? Well, thanks to a special Valentine?s Day collaboration on the Minnesota State Mankato campus, you won?t have to wonder any longer. There?s someone else to do the writing for you.
During the days leading up to Valentine's Day, the MSU Mankato Student Activities office and the Creative Writing Club will join hands (so to speak) on a creative project which will allow MSU students to construct cards for their loved ones free of charge. And, for a minimal extra charge, a personal note, letter or poem will be written on the spot by a Creative Writing or Master of Fine Arts student.
Members of the Creative Writing Club and MFA students will be on hand in the Centennial Student Union?s Hearth Lounge on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 9-10, and Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 13-14, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. each day to help create the cards and write the messages.
Materials will be provided free by the Student Activities office.
?This project is a great example of collaboration between entities on our diverse campus and we think a great service to our students at the same time,? commented Ashley Portra, who is both an MFA student and a member of the Creative Writing Club.
All proceeds will benefit the Creative Writing Club?s efforts to help cover housing costs for students attending the annual Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference in Chicago, Ill., Portra said.
Aren't you sorry you didn't think of it?!
